PANTA brings AI to index investing

London, Monday 21 September 2026 — PANTA today announced the launch of an advanced AI layer designed to help financial institutions build, test and iterate indices faster than ever before.

Much of the $22 trillion index industry still relies on disconnected manual processes and legacy technology, making index design a cumbersome task. PANTA’s latest AI release transforms this: conversational AI features allow users to describe what they want in plain English and get a working index methodology in minutes, while AI-generated commentaries offer insights into how an index performed during backtests. Teams still review and refine the text, but the heavy lifting is done for them.

Importantly, PANTA’s new AI layer sits on top of its deterministic core, meaning index calculation – another feature of the index technology platform – remains reproducible, explainable and auditable, satisfying both regulators and internal teams alike. AI changes how users interact with the platform day to day, not how the numbers are produced.

CEO Tobias Sproehnle said: Reliability is something we will never compromise on. What AI does is close the gap between an idea and a tested index. Work that used to take days or weeks can now take minutes, with the same rigour underneath.

The launch comes amid a strong year for PANTA, which has raised £3 million from Fuel Ventures and Innovate UK, formed a strategic partnership with Rimes, and been recognised twice at the prestigious FStech Awards.
